The Lost Leaf
has had over

FREE
SHOWS since we opened in 2007.
The music area is very small, with only room for
about 25 people directly in front of the band, although another
30+ can see the band, and another 30+ can hear them. This is an
original historic house from 1920, so it was not designed as a
music venue, although with vaulted ceilings and wood hollow floors
the acoustics are quite good. It is really easy to get too loud
so don't be offended if we ask you to turn down. Most of the bartenders
and the owner are professional long time musicians, so we know
what's best for the venue, and our customers' ears. ;)
Our
#1 Complaint from customers is bands are too loud, don't be that band. It's a
small venue. Since you get paid a percentage of the bar its best to keep them
happy. They're cool artists and musicians themselves.
We also have future plans to open our back yard
as a live music and drinking area. The occupancy out back will
provide at least 200 with a great view of the stage.

We
usually Do Not book Metal,
Hard Rock, Hardcore, House, Techno, Scream-o, sorry,
nothing personal, the place is too small for these styles of music...
We will be open to those styles when we
open an outdoor stage.

Note:
we never charge a cover and are 21+ only.... So band proceeds
are coming from the bar and merch.
Bands
get from 10-20% of the bar during the performance, the lower
being on weekends because of the bars regular draw and door persons. Bands under
this have yielded more than $500 + merch. This does not apply on 1st Fridays or
when ever we say , but you know when you book. Bands must sign for the
money and if its over $600 you may be W9'd
* 1st Friday of the month is always packed, so its a good
night if you can get it.
* Touring acts we can
offer up to $100 guarantee and sometimes a crash pad. If the
bar percentage is greater than $100 you get the higher amount.
* National acts we will
always work with to meet your needs on a guarantee and hotel
rooms may be provided.
* Touring acts check to see
if you can get on a show even if you see it booked on our
calendar (see homepage), we may be able to add you to the
bill.
* Up to $25 per Band
may be taken out of pay for sound man. This may or may not
apply depending on your needs. Bands usually setup up their
own sound since usually only vocals run through the pa.
* Bands can load in
and setup anytime from 4:30 PM to no later than 9:30PM.
* Music starts closer
to 10p or between 9-10. Your choice of how long your set is,
usually from 30 min up to 3 hours. Try not to play more than
45-50 minutes without a break.
* Bands and promoters
can request earlier sets or special events sets that last
all day with lots of bands.
* Bands are provided
drink tickets or a discount at the bar.
* We normally only have one act a night. If you want to bring
on multiple acts that's fine but we cannot guarantee an increase
in pay. These terms also apply to promoters, and DJs.
* Bands added to the show
at the last minute may not increase your pay time. For example
if you have a 1 hour set, and add 2 bands at the last minute,
you may still get paid for that hour only.
* Bands with members under 21 are permitted
if a parent of each underage member is in attendance. No underage
audience members may attend.
NO EXCEPTIONS MADE. This is the law.

Some Bands that have played at The Lost Leaf
We book 80% local bands but sometime it is
easier for new local bands to try and get on an existing show
of a band you know to get your foot in the door.
We are sorry that
we cannot respond to all attempts to book music or art at
our venue due to our limited resources and high requests.

NOTE: For
Art
Shows We mainly only book local AZ artists that have been in AZ
for at least 10 years.
100% of sales go directly to you. Note there are over 70 galleries
around us if we don't work out.
We usually booked 3-6 months in advance.
We do not rent out this venue, it is always a public
venue.
Of course everyone has their
price.
We DO work with Movie and Television productions
and usually with no cost,
as long as it doesn't effect regular business hours. Filming during
hours is ok but customers are welcome.
We have had major hollywood shoots blackout
the windows to shoot all day since we don't open until 5pm.
